How do automatic review requests work in Workhand?
When you mark a job complete in the app, Workhand sends an email to the customer that day asking them to rate the work. The customer scores 1 to 5 stars from their inbox without needing to log in or install anything. The rating lands on your dashboard. There is no manual step for the contractor. Set the template once, mark jobs done as you complete them, the reviews come in.
How does the Google review funnel work?
When a customer scores 4 or 5 stars in the Workhand review email, the next screen invites them to also post the review on your Google Business Profile with a one-click link you have pre-configured in Settings. Customers who score 1 to 3 stars do not see the Google prompt. The complaint stays in the app as private feedback so the owner sees it first and can call the customer before a 2-star Google review goes public.
Can I customize the review request email?
Yes. The template lives in Settings and supports your company name, the customer first name, and the job title as merge fields. Most contractors leave the default which reads like a contractor wrote it. If you want to add a Spanish or Portuguese version for bilingual customers, that is supported too via the chat-language preference each customer has.
Where do customer reviews show up after they leave one?
Three places. First, on your public profile at workhand.app/c/your-company-slug, which any prospect can see when they search you. Second, on the Reviews tab inside the app for the owner and admin to see. Third, on Google Business Profile for the 4 and 5 star ratings that took the second-step prompt. The dashboard shows your average rating and total review count for quick reference.
Can I respond to reviews?
Yes. From the Reviews tab in the app, you can reply to any review with a public response that shows on the public profile. Use it to thank good reviewers (research shows that doubles future review activity) and to address concerns from lower ratings without escalating. Replies are mobile-first like the rest of the app.
Does the review system cost extra?
Review automation is on Pro at 34.99 per month and Team at 89.99 per month. Free plan does not include automated review requests. The math: a single won customer from a 4.8-star public profile pays back the Pro subscription many times over, which is why almost every contractor with active marketing has this on.
What if a customer leaves a bad review?
If the customer scored 1-3 stars in Workhand, the review stays in the app as private feedback and does not auto-post to Google. The owner gets notified, can call the customer to resolve the issue, and the review only goes public if the owner chooses to publish it. This is not about hiding bad work, it is about giving you the chance to fix a problem before the internet does.
Does Workhand integrate with my existing Google Business Profile?
Yes. In Settings, paste your Google Business Profile review URL (the one ending in /review?placeid=...). Workhand uses that link in the 4-and-5-star funnel. You do not need a Google API key or special permissions. The customer just clicks the link and lands on your real Google review form.
